landscapes drawn in pearly monotones-this is an auditory image, because it describes the lasndscape as monotones, which sets a tone of dull, boring plainness.

 cold silver on a sky of slate-visual imagery, describes the sky and clouds, as dull and silver.

A thread of water, churned to milky spate-this is a visual image desvribing how the river turns and churns itself with mud to a murky color.

briefer than apple blossom's breath-This visual image describes how short the spring is, alluring to the distance at which an apple's breath would go if it breathed.

like a bonfire of leaves-This visual image describes the differences of color in leaves in the fall, setting a tone of fiery brilliance.
